Hi, my name is Assaf Topaz

I was Co-Founder of Gilian Technologies, a Web site security company (acquired a year ago by another company and today called Breach Security).

As a teenager and until I was 24 years old, I worked as a professional photographer. The closest description of my style is photo-journalism. I worked for several newspapers and journals, but mostly did my own stuff for my portfolio.I used to spend half of my days taking pictures and the other half in the lab (red light only).I love the good old black and white photography and its processing (which I still practice from time to time). Today I'm less active as a photographer, but I spend a lot of time learning about, and enjoying other people's art.

My academic background is in Economics, Geography and Business.

I currently work for Elron Electronic Industries as a Director of Business Development.

In my work, I’m searching for great entrepreneurs with good ideas.   

I believe that the Input/Output mechanisms is a critical piece in the technology puzzle that is still far from being complete, which in turn holds us up from exploiting the real potential of technology. Therefore any form of I/O device or mechanism that facilitates humans’ interaction with technology is of special interest to me.

IÂ’m also involved in sports, mainly long distance running (10K-21K), off-road biking, snowboarding and water ski.

IÂ’m married to Mimi (Michal) and father to Jonathan (5 years old) and Ben (2 years old)
