I am the one on the right in this picture.

Interested in Computer Mediated Communication, and have been working in this field for almost thirty years (can you tell by the pictures?). Issues of interest include e-democracy, information value and sharing, network topology, behavioral simulations, social capital and justice online, and more.

I founded the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication (JCMC), and edited it for its first ten years. Am still on the editorial board. Am currently writing a weekly column for Globes, titled "Log-In", available every friday in print, and on the 'net. Am running a few educational and social related internet-based initiative.

My professional stuff involves being Director of the Center for the Study of the Information Society, outgoing editor (but forever) founder of JCMC, professor of information systems at the Graduate School of Business University of Haifa, with appointments variously at the Hebrew University, Stanford University, the University of Michigan , and quite a few more.

I have written a few books, and read even more (!). My home page has these and lots of other stuff, http://rafaeli.net
